Benedict Chilaka Iheasirim Foundation Commissions First Solar- Powered Borehole In Imo

It was a celebration galore, penultimate week, at Ama Umuleafor, Umuchoko,Umueze (Ezenachigwe) Enyiogugu Autonomous Community In Aboh Mbaise LGA, Imo State as the B.C.I Foundation, commissioned and handed over to the people a multi -million Naira automated Solar-powered water borehole.
The Foundation founded in commemoration of late Dr.Benedict Chilaka Iheasirim, BCI by the family, according to the Vice Chairman,Nze Ferdinand Iheasirim,who expressed gratitude to God and the committee for the successful completion of the first one amongst the ten others.


He disclosed that nine other boreholes are ongoing in each of the nine villages in Enyiogugu town.
According to him, the foundation will soon embark on creation of new roads in the town.
The Foundation’s Vice chairman also said:”It is a spiritually conceived project.lt is a project of visual foundation.Enyiogugu must have water which is a bedrock.Once you have water and good roads the community will develop on its own.
Like my late father would say, ‘give the people road, give them water, they will be the instruments and catalysts for development.
“New roads will be created and Oruru Ukwu Enyiogugu 2024 will be the talk of the town ”
Speaking also at the occasion, the Traditional Ruler of (Ezenachigwe) Enyiogugu Automous Community, Enyiogugu,HRH,Eze Sir Athanasius Ezekwe commended the initiative of the Dr.Iheasirim family and called on public -spirted individuals in Enyiogugu to emulate them, so as to positively impart on the people.
In his own speech, The Traditional Prime Minister of the community and a member of the committee,Okenze Maurice Ekeh, eulogized the family, adding that no politician has done such project in the community.
In their respective speeches, the Chairman of the committee, Chief Mike Nnaji;Nze George Ndunaka and Chief Christagonius Akali advised the community to provide security for the borehole to avoid its vandalization.
The Chairman of Umuchoko Umueze,Mr.Emmanuel Iheasirim, in his remarks gave the assurance that they would protect the project.
In an interview, the wife of late Dr Iheasirm,Ezinne Mrs Benadeth Iheasirm, was full of praises to God for the project.
An award for Good Leadership and Humanitarian Service was presented to B.C.I Foundation.
The ceremony was graced by some prominent sons and daughters of Enyiogugu town.
